The first morning of the 2020 AOPA Virtual National Assembly got off to a good start with several manufacturer workshops on tap, including addressing falls in older adults, and the latest in liners, fabrication, and scoliosis bracing.
As we look to the future, it’s likely that more national meetings and conferences will have at least some virtual components. Here are a few fast steps to ensure a more enjoyable and informative session experience:
- Reserve your spot in the session you want to attend.
- Make sure you have any technology you need to participate before the session begins.
- Join a few minutes before the session starts.
- Watch, preferably in theater mode.
- Chat. (Don’t be shy.)
- Repeat.
Of course, this morning there were the usual technology glitches as attendees began to log on. Some couldn’t get the video to start; others couldn’t hear the audio. An AOPA representative was on hand with solutions. One attendee responded with success after following the suggestion and using a standard technology trick: “I had to log out and log back in to get it to work. Everything is fine now. Thanks.”
Manufacturer workshops continued until 4 p.m. today. The event runs through September 12—virtually of course.
