The Live in Motion Foundation, formerly the Orthotics and Prosthetics Foundation for Education and Research, named Rebekah Bakken-Gay and Fateme Eskandarighargheh as recipients of its 2026 spring mentored pilot research grants.
Bakken-Gay is a doctoral candidate in health sciences with a concentration in sport and exercise psychology at Texas Christian University. Her research examines how guided mindfulness, present moment awareness, and self-compassion protocols influence physical activity experiences.
Eskandarighargheh is a doctoral candidate in the interdisciplinary health science program, School of Integrated Health Sciences, at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she studies the intersection of rehabilitation biomechanics, psychology, neuroscience, and wearable technology.
Offered twice annually, the one-year grant program supports clinically relevant, investigator-initiated research in orthotics, prosthetics, and pedorthics.
