The National Association for the Advancement of Orthotics and Prosthetics (NAAOP) has named Maggie Baumer, JD, president for 2022.
Baumer has served in advocacy positions for several healthcare organizations including the Long Term Care Community Coalition and the Office of the New York State Attorney General (Health Care Bureau) in New York City and serves on the American Trauma Society’s board of directors. She is an attorney licensed in New York and Massachusetts.
“We are extremely fortunate and honored to have Maggie assuming the presidency in January for the second session of the 117th Congress,” said George Breece, NAAOP executive director. “Maggie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a clinic manager for Hanger Clinic, in Springfield, Massachusetts, as well as Certified Peer Visitor Coordinator for the AMPOWER program, peer-to-peer network designed to empower and strengthen those affected by amputation or limb difference through peer mentorship, educational resources, and community events.”
