Galindau Joins Knit-Rite as Executive VP, Sales & Marketing

Daniel R. Galindau has joined Knit-Rite Inc., Kansas City, Kansas, as executive vice president, sales and marketing.

Born and raised in San Mateo, California, Galindau received a bachelors degree from the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1977. Upon graduation, he received a commission in the US Navy, served four years, and was honorably discharged with the rank of lieutenant.

Subsequent to his discharge, Galindau earned an MBA from the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles. Upon graduation he joined the Hilti Company, a three-billion-dollar multi-national firm, headquartered in Liechtenstein, recognized as a global leader in the manufacture and sales of construction tools and fasteners. After nine successful years in Hilti's US organization in field sales, marketing, product management, and human resources, he became general manager of Hilti's Korean market organization.

In five years the Korean organization more than doubled in size and sales. In 1997, Dan received a promotion to president of Hilti's Asia-Pacific region. This position is responsible for 13 country organizations, oversight of manufacturing in China, 1,500 employees, and $300 million in sales.

In 2003, after a 20-year career with Hilti Company, Galindau and his wife decided to return to the US and embark on a new career direction. They presently reside in the Kansas City area.
