Eula Deperalta
Knit-Rite, Kansas City, Kansas, has announced the retirement of Eula Deperalta, processing supervisor, and the promotion of Maria Serrano to production supervisor.
Deperalta will retire in May after 41 years of service at Knit-Rite. According to the company, she began her career at Knit-Rite in 1969 as a knitter, then moved into packaging inspection and eventually supervisory roles, where her responsibilities ranged from wash supervision to assisting customers with concerns to helping fit patients.
“We appreciate Eula’s many contributions during her years of service at Knit-Rite,” Mark Smith, Knit-Rite CEO and president, said. “We wish her all the best in her retirement.”
Serrano has worked for Knit-Rite for seven years, starting her career as a sewing-machine operator. She was later promoted to sewing supervisor. Knit-Rite stated in a press release that with her current promotion to production supervisor, Serrano’s role will be expanded, and she will assume the responsibilities currently held by Deperalta. Serrano and Deperalta worked together for several months to ensure a smooth transition of roles.

Maria Serrano
Chris Vering, executive vice president and chief operating officer said of the transition, “Maria has continually showed her ability to handle any task or responsibility given to her. We know she will continue to provide the great service to our customers that Eula has provided for past 41 years.”
