“I am honored to serve the Amputee Coalition of America as the chairman of the board,” Cohen said. “I am dedicated to serving the limb-loss community and ensuring that the Amputee Coalition is responsive to the needs of people affected by limb loss. We are a distinguished group of board members who, because of their strong leadership skills, extensive management experience, and proven track records, are able to make a difference and positively impact the lives this organization touches.”
The following new members were elected to the coalition’s board of directors:

Scott Stevens, MD
Scott Stevens, MD: Stevens is a professor of surgery at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville, and is the director of its endovascular program. According to the ACA, Stevens “wants to make a difference in the limb-loss community, primarily through advancing the quality of life of amputees and through limb-loss prevention messages.” He was described as instrumental in the ACA’s procurement of a grant from the Physicians’ Medical Education and Research Foundation in support of the ACA’s Paddy Rossbach Youth Camp. He holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, and his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine.

Terrence P. Sheehan, MD
Terrence P. Sheehan, MD: Sheehan is the chief medical officer of Adventist Rehabilitation Hospital of Maryland, Rockville, an acute rehabilitation facility specializing in traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, strokes, amputations, orthopedic injuries and surgeries, and neurological disorders. He is the director of the amputee program and has worked for more than 15 years in the care of patients with limb loss. He received his medical degree from State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and completed his residency in Boston at Tufts University-New England Medical Center Hospitals.
“The Amputee Coalition is very fortunate to have such an outstanding board of directors,” Kendra Calhoun, Amputee Coalition president and CEO, said. “The addition of Drs. Stevens and Sheehan to our board of directors ensures the organization will continue to benefit from a diversity of medical knowledge and insights that will help push our initiatives forward. I look forward to working with this excellent and dedicated board of directors.”
