Herbert Blair Hanger, renowned in the field of prosthetics, died
on June 15, 2005, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina,
at the age of 89. After serving in the Coast Artillery during WWII,
Blair worked at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC, where he
became Officer-in-Charge of the Prosthetic-Orthotic Laboratory.
