PrimeCare O&P Network will celebrate the 11th anniversary of its PrimeFare East seminar in Nashville, Tennessee, June 5-6.
PrimeCare President and CEO Catherine Pruitt said that the conference is experiencing continuous growth, which she attributed to the expanded curriculum of CPed courses.
“We’ve come a long way from the small regional seminar we began with back in 1999,” Pruitt points out. The seminar’s spin-off western cousin, the PrimeFare West seminar, has similarly drawn increasing attendance in Salt Lake City in the four years since it was established.
This year’s expanded schedule of CPed classes brings the total available CEU credits for CPeds and COs to 15 hours this year.
“It’s a very timely offering,” Pruitt explained, “since CMS [Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services] has ruled that pedorthists and their facilities must satisfy mandatory accreditation requirements before October 2009.”
In addition to the 15-hour CPed track, PrimeFare’s curricula in prosthetics, orthotics, and administrative/management each offer a total of 12 hours of CEU credits.
Other offerings include an i-LIMB™ prosthetic-hand practitioner-training certification course and an administrative/management session focusing on the new CMS surety-bond requirement and its potential effect on the O&P industry.
