The American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABC) board of directors and Catherine A. Carter, Executive Director, have appointed Chrissy Heckenberg as ABC’s new director of facility accreditation, effective March 10, 2010. Heckenberg replaces Scott Williamson, who left ABC in March 2010 to join the Iowa-based Quality Outcomes consulting group.
“I am so pleased that Chrissy has joined the ABC staff,” Carter said. “She brings a wealth of management and program analysis experience that will be a tremendous asset to our facility accreditation program…. Chrissy’s excellent management skills will ensure that we maintain our excellence in the accreditation arena and provide a smooth transition for our future growth.”
According to ABC, Heckenberg’s immediate focus will be on continuing ABC’s accreditation program and expanding ABC’s reputation in the marketplace. Heckenberg’s long-term goals for the department are to strengthen ABC’s accreditation team and enhance the level of service to its accredited facilities.
“I am thrilled to have Chrissy as a member of the ABC team,” D. Deane Doty Jr., CPO, President of ABC’s board of directors, stated. “Her background and management experience will enable ABC to continue to grow our facility accreditation program and bring additional value to our credential holders.”
Heckenberg brings to ABC extensive management and leadership experience in the private sector. Before joining ABC, she served as team leader and consultant for JP Morgan Chase in Phoenix, Arizona. She also served as an account executive for Washington Mutual, Seattle, Washington, and was recognized for her performance by being included in the prestigious President’s Club for four consecutive years. ABC has stated that it expects her background in team management and system analysis and her degree in marketing from Villanova University, Pennsylvania, will all contribute to her performance.
“I am thrilled to be a part of the ABC family and look forward to conquering the challenges that lie ahead,” Heckenberg concluded. “My goal is to make the accreditation process more efficient and effective for both our staff as well as our applicants. Expect some great things to happen!”
