Ekso Bionics, Berkeley, California, was named the World Technology Network’s (WTN) 2012 Corporate Health & Medicine award winner. Ekso was one of 30 individuals and corporations honored at the October 23 World Technology Awards Gala and Ceremony in New York, New York.
The WTN works to accomplish its mission of encouraging serendipity through global and regional events for its members (and others) to help make connections among them, and to examine the likely implications and possible applications of emerging technologies, according to the WTN website. The World Technology Awards are presented each year to the outstanding innovators from each sector within the technology arena, both as a way to honor those individuals and as a vetting mechanism to determine the newest WTN members.
Earlier this year, Ekso was named an Edison Award gold winner in the category of best new product, assistive devices for its Ekso bionic exoskeleton.
