Physicians at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), Bethesda, Maryland, are conducting research on phantom limb pain.
For one study, WRNMMC is seeking individuals with limb amputation who are also blind. A second project seeks to identify genes that might protect or exacerbate phantom limb pain. For this study, WRNMMC is seeking volunteers with limb amputation who have a parent or sibling who also has an amputation, with or without phantom limb pain.
