The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (the Academy) announced that nine Academy projects were recognized with 2015 MarCom Awards, an international marketing and communications award contest.
The 2015 Academy Annual Meeting & Scientific Symposium Final Program won the platinum award in the Annual Meeting Final Program category. The Make a Career of Making a Difference brochure and the O&P careers specialty brochures won platinum awards in the Informational and Brochure Series categories. The brochures were created in partnership with the HOPE Careers Consortium, which in 2014 solicited the Academy’s assistance to produce a comprehensive brochure, specialty-specific brochures, video, public service announcements, and a website aimed at spreading awareness about O&P careers with a focus on a career as an O&P technician. The video won the gold award in the Informational Video category. The O&P Careers website, 30-second, and 60-second PSAs received honorable mention in their respective categories.
The Journal of Prosthetics & Orthotics (JPO) and The Academy TODAY earned gold awards in the Scientific Journal and Educational Institution Magazine categories, respectively.
“This type of recognition speaks highly of the work of the Academy and our efforts to provide the very best to our members and the profession,” said Academy President M. Jason Highsmith, PT, DPT, PhD, CP, FAAOP.
The MarCom Awards recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communications professionals. Winners are recognized for their excellence in terms of quality, creativity, and resourcefulness. The 2015 competition included more than 6,500 entries throughout the United States and 15 foreign countries.
