Even though it is not professionally based the Amputee Listserv based at St
Johns University is open to prosthetists and other medical professionals.
The list is amputee oriented and so does not revolve around the latest
l-codes or who is working what facility, but we do get into a lot of
discussion on issues that affect the daily lives of amputees – from the
trivial to life or death decisions.
There are a number of prosthetists on the list and several doctors.
However, I do not recomend the list for prosthetists who think they are the
centre of the prosthetic universe, ie no big ego’s – you won’t last a week
on this list.
