The morning session included clinical education for therapists and swim coaches and was led by Jim Scharf, PTA, with Hanger Clinic, Dayton. The First Swim Clinic was led by Mabio Costa, and assisted by Rob Hendry and Emma Durante and the therapists and swim coaches. Adaptive swim instruction gave attendees practical tips, techniques, and opportunities to improve while in the pool. Hendry completed his certification as an OPAF First Swim instructor during the clinic.
The event was sponsorsed by Hanger Clinic, Austin, Texas; Bulldog Tools, Lewisburg, Ohio; and Endolite, Miamisburg, Ohio; as well as grant funding from the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics.
