Salus University’s Master of Science in O&P program has been granted initial accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, effective March 15. The program welcomed its first cohort of students in fall 2023.
“This initial accreditation is a testament to our program’s steadfast commitment to excellence and adherence to the highest educational standards,” said Chad Duncan, PhD, CRC, CPO, program director. “This accolade is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our faculty, students, and staff. We are excited to celebrate this remarkable achievement and continue our commitment to providing exceptional education and training in the allied health professions.”
Upon its founding, Salus was the 14th O&P program nationwide, and one of two programs in Pennsylvania.
The next comprehensive evaluation of the program is scheduled for no later than 2029. The National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education will perform annual reviews to monitor the program’s compliance with the standards, as well as to evaluate the outcomes based on annual reports and supporting documents.
