Prosthetics Outreach Foundation (POF), in partnership with The Haiti Project of the University of Miami, Florida, and the Justinian University Hospital (JUH), the largest public hospital in northern Haiti, has renovated and established an O&P facility in Cap Haitien, Haiti. This new facility will provide prosthetic services that have been very limited in northern Haiti.

POF’s Director of Program Quality and Emerging Programs, Raymond Pye, assisted with the selection of two Haitians, Isador Etandieu and Roadian Valcin, who are receiving education and hands-on training as prosthetic technicians for the facility. Etandieu and Valcin are also enrolled in El Salvador’s University Don Bosco Category II P&O practitioner training program.
Pye also helped select orthopedic technologist Mahamadou Soule for the P&O facility. Soule, who is from Togo, has more than ten years of experience in P&O production. He is tasked with mentoring and training the two prosthetic technicians, as well as establishing the P&O service for JHU’s physical rehabilitation center.
